The World of BRASS

 

This is a 45-50 minute program intended for Elementary and Middle school students.  It is slightly simplified for younger (K -3) students, and uses more vocabularies, and musical examples for older (4 -8) students.  During this program, The Sonorous Brass takes the students on a journey through the history of the brass family of instruments. The Sonorous Brass also demonstrates a wide variety of musical styles and time periods. Please contact us for a complete synopsis of this program.

Master Classes

 

The Sonorous Brass Quintet offers classes which are designed to help students understand how they can become better instrumentalists. Discussions include how to practice, breathing techniques, how to produce a good sound and how to play as an ensemble. We also coach existing ensembles at the school. Directors, we want to help your students become better performers and musicians, so the SBQ will tailor master classes to your needs. 

School Residencies

Residency programs are tailored to each schools needs. A residency usually includes:

· Programs for the Elementary and Middle School students,

· Master classes for the bands of the Elementary, Middle and High Schools

· Private lessons for select students in the High School

· A concert on the night of the last day of the residency for the public
